BIO
After graduating law school and passing the bar, I did what any respecting daughter of two educators would do, I got me a good job! I clerked one year for a circuit court judge, then I started working for our state-owned electric company in the fall of 2019.
The next year, Covid-19 made an unprecedented impact on our lives. My employer sent us home to work and that is where I remained for two years. I was in complete control of my time, free to accomplish things sitting in an office between the hours of 9 and 5 would not allow. That time changed my life and my mindset. There were talks of bringing everyone back to the office, but my new experience showed me that I didn't need their office or the perception of a "good job" to be a successful lawyer.
It was then that a seed was planted and I knew that I found a "Why" that would sustain me on a new journey of opening my own law practice. My "Why" was my time. Time with my daughter and family.
I was raised to believe that attending college and finding a job to retire from in 30 years was the only path to success. I graduated from the University of South Carolina and the Charleston School of Law. I conceived my beautiful daughter my senior year at USC and delivered my sweet girl the week after walking across the stage. I entered law school in the fall with a 3-month-old and a dream. Everyone always wants to know, "how did you get through law school with a newborn/toddler?" My answer is always the same, "When you want something bad enough, you just do it."
In sum, "A mind that is stretched by new experiences, can never go back to its old dimensions." My desire to control my time, coupled with my capacity to self-manage and create healthy habits led to the opening of the Law Office of Amber Daniels, LLC.
